PASSIONS

A collection of creative ventures and explorations.

As a designer, it's not uncommon to have other artistic pursuits and creative side hustles. Like many, I started with traditional art, and it was the ripe age of 5 where I began to scribble with my Roseart colored pencils and classic printer paper. Over the years I've used acrylic, brush markers, charcoal, and watercolor to make my illustrations, and now I've transitioned to using digital tools like Procreate and Adobe Illustrator. These applications are definitely my preferred medium now that I've used them for 6+ years, but I'll still pick up my pencil and sketchbook and sit somewhere for a few hours just to keep my "real-life" skills fresh.

A small fun fact about me: Before discovering product design, I wanted to be a concept or illustration artist, and so I spent a lot of time making character art and practicing the style of studios like Riot Games and Blizzard. Although that career path didn't work out, I still enjoy making illustrations in my free time and imagining concepts on my own. If you're curious to see some of that work, here's my art portfolio that you can check out.

Here are some of my favorite illustrations I've done recently.

Photography is something that is still fairly new to me. But I recently picked up an amazing camera, the Fujifilm xT5, which captures pictures with a vintage and film-like quality that I really love. I'm still learning how to use its different presets and make my own recipes, but it's an amazing camera that I take everywhere.

My overall philosophy is to capture images with authenticity. I want to see how people live in different parts of the world and capture the raw beauty of their everyday moments, emotions, and cultures.

As I continue to travel around the world, I’m slowly collecting snapshots that show brief but meaningful glimpses into the lives of the people I happen to encounter.

Here are some of my recent favorites from my trip to Japan.

Reading is something I've been trying to do more of in 2025. I read a new book on all of my flights, and usually I'll opt for realistic fiction and nonfiction, but I like trying out new genres all the time.

I’ve been trying to finish at least one book per month, and so far I’ve been pretty successful. Sometimes finishing a book will leave me staring at the ceiling for hours, or sometimes they lead me down a rabbit hole of really random things. But that’s what makes it so special—the ability of a good book to spark curiosity, challenge my thinking, and take me on unexpected mental journeys.

Here are some of my favorites that I’ve read recently.
